How long should I broil three tilapia filets?

I've actually never made broiled fish before but I'm attempting it tonight. I found a recipe with butter, garlic, thyme, tarragon and lemon. (If that helps at all.) The recipe says broil three to five minutes per side, but that sounds like an awfully short time to cook the fish thoroughly so I just want to be double sure. (Wouldn't want anyone to get food poisoning or anything) Is that about right for broiled fish?

Graduation Party Etiquette?

Should you put a cover page on your grad school application essays? My graduate school application process is all done online. Both essays (2) are submitted separately (uploaded). What about a TITLE? I am afraid to use a title as I don't want it to undermine the essay (if that makes sense).... Did I mess up things ?

Try greasing your pan slightly (not butter)!!!!! Use like a vegetable oil because it has a higher flash point and will not burn as butter will. also check your oven sometimes it will run hotter or cooler than what it says, i usually don't even go by the what it says anymore because its wrong most of the time. I use a little inexpensive thermometer to place in the oven and go by that. This way you know for sure.

Cleaning USED gas grill?

I recently got a USED gas grill. It's a char-broil and in decent condition. but the previous owners didn't care for it very well. the inside was covered in goop! i mean about 1/2" of grease and who knows what else!!! All around the inside sides and the bottom. the grates are distgusting. I can handle cleaning the grates no problem. i was told to get as much gunk out as i could, then spray with easy off and rinse clean with the garden hose. i don't know if i should do that. I mean, is it safe to use the hose like that INSIDE the grill?? It makes me sad to think that whilst bands such as Led Zeppelin and the Who were at the forefront of british music decades ago, popular music now is emotionless, and frankly, musicless. When I say metal, I do not refer to the stereotypical metal band that supposedly just shouts over loud music, but bands such as Dream Theater and Opeth, progressive metal bands. I feel that Opeth are probably the most gifted band, in terms of both songwriting and technical skill. They have a whole range of both acoustic and heavier stuff; the soft tracks are truly beautiful. High fruit, fish and poultry diet... but not much bowel movement?

Hi, so for about a week and a half I have been drinking a shake in the morning with pineapple slices, a banana, pomegranate juice, carrots and other assorted fruits. Then I have been eating small portions of broiled chicken or fish and brown rice or grain pasta and vegetables for lunch and dinner with fruits and vegetables throughout the day. Consuming a decent amount of water and taking fish oil and B vitamin complex in the morning as well. With that said, I don't feel bloated, I am actually pretty gassy (much to the annoyance of my girlfriend) but I have been passing very little actual bowels. When I do it does not come out easily and its usually pretty small. Like I said, I don't feel constipated or anything and do not feel sick or anything but I am kind of wondering why I can't pass a good stool. How can I develop my communication skills?

I have a lot of trouble getting what's in my head out when I am speaking. It scares me and I desperately want to fix it somehow, no matter how long it takes. I am 15 and my mum is always saying that it's just because of my age and that it will improve as i get older, but I don't think that. My Roommate Wants to get a Dog?

So, my roommate and I are 2 single guys living in an apartment in the city. My roommate wants to get a dog and I am not sure this is a good idea. My roommate is flat broke all the time; he’s even borrowing rent money from me every month until the middle of the month. I had a serious talk with him about finding more income so he can start paying his share of the rent ON TIME. Now he wants “us” to get a 10-month-old puppy. Personally, I love pets a lot, but I am a very busy young man (working full time and part-time grad student) at this point in my life and I can’t afford the time, responsibility and costs that come with taking care of a dog. A dog would have to be my roommate’s sole responsibility, and I just don’t see that happening since he can hardly pull his own weight even now. How is he going to pay for its food or its vet bills? I predict he's going to be borrowing money from me to pay for these expenses and asking me to help out with the dog when I'm pressed for time already as it is. To be honest I might not be much help because all you just wrote sounds exactly like what I am going through. I am depressed and I know my friends have seen a change in me. I'm not nearly the happy person I used to be in high school. If try to act like I used to it just feels forced and I feel they can notice it. I want to be how I used to be but since so many things has happened that I know I can't. I can only grow towards becoming the person I've changed into, except I really am not sure who've changed into. It is hard to hang out with friends because I feel like I am raining on their parade, but I still attempt to socialize so that I am not holed up in my room (i know all about watching movies online). Why has the oven (both bake and broil) on my electric range oven stopped working?

This is the second time this has happened this year! The first time it happened we simply replaced our older appliance with a slightly newer, used one. This one is a GE and has no clock or any self-cleaning controls. It just has the 4 range/burner controls with a single oven control in the middle, which controls both oven temperature and broil. Neither the broil nor baking features work at all, and the indicator light does not come on when I turn on the oven. The range seems to be working fine, however. What's the problem? And why has it happened more than once so recently? We live in a very old house, and I'm concerned about the old wiring. Could there be surges or failures causing this?

Sure. The way you put it you should have no problem, especially with the masters background. Don't just tell the graduate committee how you plan to be a scholar at their university, show them. When (not if) you land an interview or candidate interview show the graduate committee what you have learned through your master's program. Hopefully your master's was a thesis based due to the shear backup power on knowledge you will have, and tell them how you are going to use what you have learned and performed scholastically to the next level. If you are going in for your Ph.D. really think about how you are going tell them the directions you are heading or plan to head. If you have had the opportunity in working on a thesis tell the committees how you are committed to academic excellence in your field and specialty. Tell them something that isn't a cookie cutter version of every other student that has passed in front of them, most importantly express interest in the program but don't be too over zealous. Make sure you are relaxed, ask questions and most importantly, if you get to go to the UK before you apply, talk to faculty in the area(s) you are looking into. Get to know them and talk to them on a regular basis. If you can't go to the UK in the short term, write to the faculty members of the program of interest. Clear communication and a strong, developed candidates make the best graduate students.

I would never put the brisket in a crock pot unless you want to cook it for 3 days. If you do it WILL be rubbery. It needs more intense heat. Bring the brisket to a boil and turn down to a slow simmer on the stove top for 8/10 hours. Save your crock pot for a pork roast.

I often dont have much time to prepare meals for myself at home or at work. I would like to know people's favorite 5 minute snacks that can be made from items most people have. For example, My girlfriend taught me how to make cheese toast: Butter one side of a piece of bread, place it butter side up in the oven with it set to "Broil". When browned, flip and place pre-sliced cheese on non-buttered side. When the cheese is melted, take it out and enjoy. Even when it is browned, its still quite soft and delicious.

I am going to be a senior in high school this upcoming school year. I am leaning toward majoring in physics in college. I would like to work with fiber optics, so would this be the best undergrad major for me to pursue? I know it will be tough, but i really enjoy physics and math. It's our first time owning a barbecue grill. It's propane. We got this big tenderloin roast that looks like the worm baby from The Fly, gonna cut it in half and barbecue it tonight. This is aimed at people in the Uk because I think Americans might be different. I find over and over in social groups that I can't find a way to be part of the group, I listen to other people often discussing the most mundance stuff and I've kind of learnt how to find the moment to pitch in but so often people just go 'oh' or even turn their back and start talking to the person next to them. I'm getting lower and lower in confidence and self esteem. I guess I've tended to make friends too with people who are talkers and I'm a listener. Thinking about a grad school for linguistics?

I have a bachelor's degree in Journalism and I have been a reporter since I graduated in 2008, not including internships. Since I've been frustrated with the newspaper industry and how work is dwindling, I'm looking into starting in another field. I speak Spanish and took linguistics course in college, so I'm thinking about pursuing it in grad school. Does anyone have any knowledge about this job field and opportunities?

Do i have social anxiety?

i just got back from my safe grad.. and on the bus people were being really loud and obnoxious, and it really upset me.. i got really depressed and didn't want to be there.. i feel like i'm fine with a couple of people around but i can't tolerate large groups/parties. sometimes i think about death. also i usually need a couple of days to stay at home and not see anybody for a couple of days afterwards until i start feeling normal again. when i looked around everyone else was happy and having fun but i really can't seem to have fun in social gatherings with a lot of people.. what's wrong with me?

I just lost my dog and need some advice.?

I've grown really attached to her, I loved her to death. She died because she escaped and apparently got hit by a car by someone. I felt so sad I cried carrying her in my arms dead, carrying her to my backyard, digging her a hole. Setting her in the hole. Trying to force to close her eyes because I didn't want to see them open while I put the dirt over her. I just need help. I have 2 other dogs but I just feel like something is missing still. Because they all have their own personalities. She was my angel. Everything reminds me of her, I'd wake up she'll be at my feet or rub her face in mine. I give my dogs treats I grab 3 but now I only grab 2. I call for all the dogs I call her name usually first because she usually was the best listener whenever you called upon her name she would come to you no matter what. I just can't get over that she's gone. I look at her grave and just wish time would just rewind so I can help prevent this tragedy. Some might think it's just a dog. But I feel like I lost a piece of me. I'm just venting but I miss my baby so much. I can't stop thinking about her. When I look at my other dogs I just think of her, wishing she was still here enjoying life with us still. Any advice on losing a dog or a loved one?

My Amana Convection oven stopped working. I don't know why. Women are easier to talk to if you need a shoulder or someone to listen or commiserate with you. Men will listen too, but they typically try to "fix" the problem and don't get the point of someone just needing a listener. (Generalizations, of course. I've met folks of both genders who don't fit the mold.)

What just happened between us?

This girl and I became friends about two months ago. There is definitely some chemistry between us but neither of us ever made a definitive mood to hint at anything more than friendship. In the past month we've hung out about six times, just the two of us. Two nights ago we went out again just for some drinks then I took her home and when we pulled up to her driveway we started talking in my car. She was asking me how I felt about her and I told her that I really liked her but if she just wanted to be friends I was alright with that because I respect her. What Can I do after studying speech therapy?

So I'm currently doing my undergrads in Speech pathology and Audiology and I'm about to be a senior. As bad as it sounds I kind of don't want to do speech anymore. I don't get it. I'm 16 and I still haven't had my first kiss, and everyone around me already has. Hell, most of my friends have already had sex. I don't get it. Alright so I met this girl in February and I am very much in love with her and would do anything for her. Yesterday I was watching my gf and her teammates practice for their horseback riding team at their stable. honestly any other option would be better than the ibr/icr plans! you can get a deferment or forbearance, or there could be other options to lower your payments depending on your servicer. on the income based plan you might qualify for a zero dollar monthly payment or other lower payment options. and if the laon isn't paid off within 25 years it gets forgiven... so it sounds like a dream come true... but you need to qualify every year. if at some point you don't qualify you get thrown back onto the standart repayment... and all that interest that you didn't pay will be added on to principle. so if you ever plan on getting a better job within the next 25 years... avoid this option at all costs or that 300 dollar payment can easily turn into a 3000 dollar payment.

Ipad 2, Laptop? Ahhh!?

So I have a deliema. I am going into college in the fall 2011 and I was planning on getting a laptop via my money I got from relatives and help from my parents as my grad present. But lately I have really been looking into geting an ipad, this is because they are sweet and I was planning on getting a new ipod touch before college but I know someone with an ipad and I think it could come in hady a lot more than a new ipod (but a lot more $$$), i would use it both for books and another way to take notes in class and record lectures and even just play some games... There's nothing wrong with them. I like people who are shy because they're straightforward, trustworthy people. They're very good listener, even though they don't speak much, they're opinions are more reasonable. But they should open up more, and show their personality. The gas apparently is not turned on. Turn the knob on a stove burner to ignite and see if you hear a clicking noise. The gas flow should also start and ignite. If you get the clicking but no ignition, turn to high and listen for gas flow. If you hear nothing, slide the drawer our from under the stove and look at the gas line. The petcock should be turned parallel to the gas line. If it is turned on, go check the valve at the gas meter. The egg shaped valve should be turned to match up with the valve body. If you still have no luck, call the gas company.

Is it normal to feel like this at 8 months pregnant?

I am 8 months pregnant with my first baby. Up until now I had been feeling great apart from the usual tiredness etc. For the last couple of weeks I have been going through some real up and downs and my husband is really not contributing. I have been very sensitive and emotional and suffering with bad anxiety. I have been worrying a lot about our finances, As I am really the main breadwinner in our house. I have been worrying about going back to work when my daughter is borne as I really had hoped to have been a stay at home mum for while. Therefore, I have been looking into work from home jobs but there seem to be a lot of scams!. My husband had been great through my pregnancy. But the last few weeks he has been going through some stresses about money, child support, how we are going to survive once the baby is borne. He hasnt been helping me around the house when he knows how I have been feeling. (He does rub my feet and my back from time to time) I still work full time, I am 8 months, tired, cook and still do the cleaning! and he just complains about every smallest thing I ask him to do. I have spoken to him how I feel and he hasn't really got much to say. We are not doing much couple things these days as he always says we haven't got the money but there are plenty of things we can do that are priceless and he never seems motivated to wanting to these things! I am feeling very depressed about the whole situation! i turn on the radio and all i hear are the same repeative songs...for example they keep playing that Pitbull and J Lo get on the dance floor song every 20 minutes, and that Black Eyed Peas just can't get enough every 20 minutes. I apprechiate that what guys do and i like being entertained it must be a fun job. But, why is it neccessary to play these songs over n over again. GRE and online schools?

I'm thinking of going to Grad school. The thing is I don't have the time really to do it so online will have to work best. Through my researching schools to try and find the program I want, some schools say you don't have to take the GRE or any grad school admittance test. I thought you had to take it for any school. How do you bake something that is supposed to be broiled?

I graduated from college last month after derailing my plans to go immediately into grad school this coming fall. I am now aiming to apply this fall/winter and start school in fall 2012 - should I tell potential employers that this is my (tentative yet fairly solid) plan? I don't want to mislead anyone, but I also don't want to be hurt in terms of getting a job by the fact that I may only be there for a year...

Im 16 and going through a really tough period, my most important exams of my life have just finished after preparing for them for a good 3 months and im also struggling to complete tonnes of work im either behind on, or i need to do by the end of june/july. Let me take you back 1 week ago, where i have until the end of june to finish 4 SCIENCE COURSEWORKS WHICH I BARELY UNDERSTAND, AND ABOUT 20 BUSINESS STUDIES COURSEWORKS WHICH HAVE TO BE ATLEAST 600 WORDS LONG EACH AND WOULD TAKE ME ABOUT 3 HOURS EACH. However i have until the end of july to to finish my college work which can be done in 1 solid week. My College is phoning home telling my mum i have to come to college to do the work, however my school teachers are telling me to come to school to do work and catch up. So the obvious thing would be to balance the 2...i have now OFFICIALLY FINISHED College and School however the work can still be completed late. I would usually attend college on a wednesday and friday but now i have the option to go anyday i want visa versa for school. So everyday i think to myself whether i would benefit to go to school or college the following morning and its always a clear decision, considering i have till the end of june for schoolwork and the end of july for college work its obvious what priority 1 is (school). But my college have told my mum i must go Wednesday and Friday to go complete work (and you know how teachers exagerate to parents) they say its imperitive but it really is not as i have till the end of july whereas i have other work needing completion, so my mum picks sides with my college teachers and forces me to go which is only making my schoolwork deadline get even closer. I get into big fights with my mum who is caring for my nan (so its me my mum and my nan in the house) because she has no clue about my WORK and whats best for me and the only reason she is pushing me to go college is because she does not want to look like a bad mother on the phone to my college, so we argue and im trying to stress what i know i should do and she starts going into other subjects calling me "lazy" etc, which has no relevance to the situation, if i go to college one day i can turn up whatever time i want to, so i take advantage of that by sleeping in an extra 2 hours. My nan who is just as ignorant as my mum just defends my mum even though she has no ******* clue what we are talking about and thats pisses me off more and they get abusive so so do i. My grandma half cooked frozen sausages this morning. She stuck them in the fridge and they have been in there for 6 hours, half cooked. She now plans to " fully" cook them by broiling them in the oven. Are these safe to eat? You are 27, and even with your autism you are an adult and can make these choices on your own. All the problems you described are mostly because of your aspergers. Your other so called problem growing up was that you were just being a kid. There is nothing wrong with you. Because of aspergers you have a problem with social settings. This is why you have trouble with girls. Don't blame them for this. Don't be angry. You need to get out and meet people and I know it is hard to socialize normally for you but practice makes perfect. My Frigidaire wall oven suddenly stopped working. When I turn both dials to "bake" then suddenly the light works, the clock works but when I turn the dials to off position everything doesn't work again. Are there fuses in this oven?
