What to do about lazy parents?

my mom is 45, has never held a job in her life... now she's in grad school where she's been for 5 years and she hasn't done any work (just keeps changing universities because all her supervisors were ~bad~ --no they paid her and expected work) and keeps racking up debts. she constantly whines about how she's so ~sick~ or how hard it is to take care of my brother who has aspergers. every time i want to tell her how pathetic this lifestyle is she just throws a tantrum. i am afraid i'll be like her when i grow up.
